Dr. Steve Ahn

Dr. Steve Ahn founded Leadis Technology, Inc. in May 2000                             and served as CEO from its formation to November 2005. Under his leadership, Leadis rapidly became a leading manufacturer of display drivers for mobile devices. Leadis completed its initial public offering at NASDAQ in June 2004. From 1992 until founding Leadis, Dr. Ahn held several senior positions at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in Korea, including Vice President and General Manager of the LCD Driver Division and Flash Memory Division both of which have eventually grown into multi-billion dollar businesses. Prior to serving in these positions, he was the Senior Manager of the Process Technology Team during which time his team played a major role in the successful development of the world's first 256Mb DRAM in 1994. Dr. Ahn also worked as a research engineer at Sharp Corporation in Japan from 1989 to 1992 and as a member of the research staff at National Semiconductor Inc. from 1988 to 1989.

In 1994, Dr. Ahn received the Grand Prize of the Samsung Group Technical Achievement Award for his contribution to the development of the next generation DRAM. Dr. Ahn also has published over 60 technical papers.

Dr. Ahn holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from Seoul National University, an M.S. in Materials Science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

 
 
 
Carson Chen
Carson ChenCarson Chen, a retired member of Cisco Systems' seasoned executive team, was the Vice President and General Manager of the Cable & Wireless Platform Division. He is a driven executive responsible for creating new markets, growing multiple businesses, teams, industry standards and products from prototype to over $1 billion sales. In his career he has grown companies or business units, created value to sell, acquired and integrated multiple companies into a focused, competitive and profitable force.

An electrical engineer with over 30 years of experience in the development and marketing of broadband and high-speed telecommunication technologies, Carson has held senior positions with National Semiconductor Corporation, Ford Aerospace and West Coast United Broadcasting Co. For the past 12 years, Carson has been a visionary and active executive member of Cisco Systems, has led teams of over 700 employees and developed multiple products each having achieved over $1 billion in revenue. Most recently, he built the broadband cable CMTS business, from inception, helping to create Cisco's dominant worldwide industry leadership position. He led teams that developed the AGS+ and 7000 Series Cisco routers, powering the early expansion of the world wide web infrastructure of the mid to late 1990s. His teams developed the first versatile interface processors with distributed routing, the first silicon switching engine and port adaptor technology. Carson is responsible for issuing over 30 United States Patents and holds six, himself. In addition, he authored the book titled "Active Filter Design."

 
 
Cliff Higgerson

Syrus Mondavi Cliff Higgerson has more than 35 years of experience in research, consulting, planning and venture investing. Combining the market insight of an analyst with a keen ability to identify blockbuster technologies early in their development, Cliff has backed some of the most successful companies in the communications industry. He focuses his investments on telecommunications with an emphasis on carrier systems and equipment.

Recent investments and board seats include Astute Networks, Hatteras Networks, Kotura, Lambda OpticalSystems, Ygnition, and Xtera Communications. Prior to investments include such industry leaders as Advanced Fibre Communications (Nasdaq: AFCI); America Online; Ciena (Nasdaqa; CIEN); Digital Island (acquired by Cable & Wireless); Digital Microwave, now Stralex Networks (Nasdaq: STXN); Tellabs (Nasdaq: TLAB); MCI (Nasdaq: MCIP); Octel (NYSE: OTL); and Tut Systems (Nasdaq: TUTS).

Cliff was a Founding Partner of ComVentures and a General Partner with Vanguard Venture Partners. He has also served as a Managing Partner and Director of Research for Hambrecht & Quist, and as a Special Limited Partner and Director of the Communications Group for L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin.

Cliff holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS from the University of Illinois.

 
 
Syrus Madavi

Mr. Madavi is currently the Managing Director of SPM Capital,   a private fund focusing on semiconductor and electronic devices for digital consumer, communications and personal computing. His career has included terms as Chairman, President and CEO of Burr-Brown Corporation, President of JDS Uniphase, and Senior Vice President at Texas Instruments.

As a Chairman, President and CEO of Burr-Brown Corporation, a semiconductor company focused on high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, Mr. Madavi led the company to increase sales by more than three-fold, and to improve operating results to over 20% profit after tax. During this period, the company's valuation increased by over 12,500%, from less than $60 million to more than $7 billion when it was acquired by Texas Instruments

At Texas Instruments, Mr. Madavi was the Senior Vice President of high performance signal processing business sector. This business with over 1 billion revenue, offered power management, analog, mixed-signal, and DSP integrated circuits for digital consumer, personal computing, and communications markets.

Mr. Madavi's career has also included positions as President of JDS Uniphase, President of Raytheon Semiconductor, and Vice President and GM of Honeywell Signal Processing Technology.

Mr. Madavi has a BSEE and MS in Computer Sciences from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an MBA in finance from UCLA. He is based in Palo Alto, California.

       

 
 
Stu Phillips

Mr. Phillips has a rare combination of in-depth operating

expertise coupled with a successful track record in venture capital. Prior to founding Ridgelift Ventures, he was a General Partner at US Venture Partners where     he led investments in communications, software and services companies, such as Cacheflow, @Road, Procket Networks, Flyswat, Merlin Networks and Force10 Networks.

Before becoming a venture capitalist, Mr. Phillips gained over 20 years of operating experience, most recently at Cisco Systems where he was the VP of Central Engineering responsible for the strategy and development of the Cisco IOS. In addition, he held operating roles at Tandem Computers, Logica, and ICL.

Mr. Phillips holds a BS in Electronics (summa cum laude) from the University of Waldes in Cardiff, UK.
