Walden International Unveils International Advisory Board

San Francisco, CA - November 13, 2001) - Walden International, a leading global venture capital firm, today unveiled the members of its International Advisory Board, comprising top-tier industry experts from around the world. A mix of well-known international business leaders, the Board meets annually to exchange views and formulate perspectives on current macro-level economic, political and social issues and for Walden International executives.

Meeting in Singapore today, the International Advisory Board discussed how Walden International and the venture capital industry at large can continue to invest, expand and innovate during the current economic downturn.

Board members, comprised of investment, industry and venture capital professionals, are chosen to complement the strengths of the firm. Their expertise and advice, the result of extensive experience gained in the United States, Asia and Europe, crosses international borders, employing the same global perspective that has made Walden International stand out in the venture capital arena since its formation in 1987. They are tasked with providing strategic counsel to Walden International on further strengthening the firm’s position globally and spearheading the development of the venture capital industry.

To further enhance the caliber of the International Advisory Board’s membership, Walden International announced the appointment of two new Board members at this year’s annual board meeting. They are John Dean, chairman of Silicon Valley Bank and Silicon Valley Bancshare, and John Wadsworth, the honorary chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia and one of Morgan Stanley’s global advisory directors.

Other members of Walden International’s International Advisory Board include:

· Frank Carlucci, chairman and partner, The Carlyle Group, USA

"We are extremely honored to have John Dean and John Wadsworth with us on the International Advisory Board," said Lip-Bu Tan, executive chairman, Walden International. "Every Board member is an acknowledged expert and entrepreneur in his or her own right. They are all forward-thinking individuals who can offer innovative concepts as well as practical advice on a global scale. Their expertise and opinions are particularly valuable, especially when the entire venture capital industry is facing challenging months ahead."
